We all have an ECS!
It’s called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and it’s present in every one of us, and in every animal, except insects, and it wasn’t even discovered until 1992!!
It was then that a scientific panel was organized by the National Institute of Mental Health to study the effect of CBD on the brain.
WHAT THEY FOUND WAS TRULY SHOCKING!
They discovered an entirely new system in the body that the medical establishment never knew even existed!! The Endocannabinoid System!!
And they found that a healthy ECS was vital to inflammation response and the body’s anti-aging processes. They reportedly also discovered that a cannabinoid deficiency, much like a vitamin deficiency, negatively affects the body’s ECS supported response to inflammation and disease.
Yet after years of research, scientists have only just begun to understand the importance of the human Endocannabinoid System (ECS). It was arguably the most important discovery in human physiology in the late Twentieth Century.
Our ECS regulates a broad range of our biological functions.
Research has revealed that the ECS is a biochemical control system of neuromodulator lipids, molecules that include fats, waxes, sterols and fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E and K and others. It’s responsible for maintaining and controlling the body’s homeostasis or balanced regulation of every system in the body.
DID YOU KNOW?
The key to health and vitality is BALANCE. Just like a boat will not float correctly without its load distributed evenly, so it is with your personal biological balance. When your endocannabinoid system is not working properly, you may have an imbalance, which may even manifest as a medical condition. There are no pharmaceutical medications that directly address an endocannabinoid dysfunction. Cannabis plant extracts and derivatives can provide natural medicinal value and support that can help balance the endocannabinoid system for optimum health.
Cannabinoids, like CBD, CBG, CBC, and CBN, supercharge the ECS, much like a B12 shot can supercharge your energy levels. Maybe that is why cannabinoids are found in abundance in breast milk.
CANNABINOIDS HAVE THE SPECIAL KEYS THAT ARE NEEDED.
Your ECS consists of specialized receptors configured to only accept certain cannabinoids. In general, a given receptor will accept only particular classes of compounds and will be unaffected by other compounds, just as a specific key is needed to open a lock.
There are two primary ECS receptors identified as Cannabinoid Type 1 receptors (CB1-R) and Cannabinoid Type 2 receptors (CB2-R).
The receptors can be “unlocked” by three kinds of cannabinoid KEYS:
|1) Endocannabinoids||2) Phyto cannabinoids||3) Synthetic Cannabinoids|
|Endogenous fatty acid|
naturally in the body
(e.g., anandamide and 2-AG)
|Concentrated in the oily |
resin of the buds and leaves
of cannabis plants and found
in Hemp extract & cannabinoids including CBD extracts
|Manufactured by artificial |
means such as in a laboratory
WHAT IS THIS PROCESS CALLED?
When a specific cannabinoid or combination of cannabinoids bind to a specialized receptor, an event, or a series of events, is triggered in the cell, resulting in a change in the cell’s activity, its gene regulation and/or the signals that it sends to neighboring cells. This process is called “signal transduction.”
TYPE 1 RECEPTORS CB1-R
CB1-R play an important role in the coordination of movements, spatial orientation, sensory perceptions (taste, touch, smell, hearing), cognitive performance and motivation. The most important function of the CB1-R is the reduction of excessive or inadequate signaling by the neurotransmitters (messengers) in the brain. By the activation of the CB1-R, the hyperactivity or hypo-activity of the messengers (e.g., serotonin, dopamine) is regulated back into balance. Symptoms such as nausea, muscle spasticity and seizures have often been alleviated or diminished with cannabinoid therapy.
Research now identifies specialized receptors located in, but not limited to, the hippocampus (memory, learning), the cerebral cortex (decision making, emotional behavior), the cerebellum (motor control, coordination), putamen (movement, learning), the hypothalamus (appetite, body temperature) and the amygdala (emotions). First detected in the brain, science now shows that CB1-R are also located in many other organs, connective tissues, gonads and glands, throughout the human body.
TYPE 2 RECEPTORS CB2-R
CB2-R are primarily associated with the immune system and found in such places as the gut, spleen, liver, heart, kidneys, bones, blood vessels, lymph cells, endocrine glands and reproductive organs.
CBD (cannabidiol) is keyed to CB2-R, and good evidence shows CBD as a beneficial therapeutic strategy to lessen the impact of inflammatory and neuro-inflammatory diseases. Until recently, it was believed that CB2-R played no role with nerve cells or bundles. However, studies now show that it also plays an important role in the signal processing of the brain.
THE COMPLETE PLANT PROFILE
Cannabidiol (CBD) is but one of more than 100+ known Phyto Cannabinoids that can interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to help restore normal balance and physiological homeostasis (balance).
This complex biochemical interaction of the matrix of Phyto Cannabinoids working synergistically together in the body is referred to as the “Entourage Effect.”
A healthy body produces its own cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids, and if a cannabinoid deficiency, much like a vitamin deficiency, can negatively affect many different body functions as well as contribute to a physiological imbalance……….
then it’s evident……..
